The Artist

My name is Gemma and I live in Surrey, South East England. Throughout my life I have been surrounded by animals. Ever since I was a small child I have loved drawing and painting especially animals whenever I could. As I was growing up art was always my passion , alongside music . Largely self taught I studied art at secondary school and continued my art education with keen interest at College where I gained my Level 3 diploma in fine art and design.

You can find me most days at my easel painting and drawing  away but on the odd occasion a dog show with Flora my Shih Tzu and dear friends.  I am a huge animal lover, no matter what their size. I feel extremely lucky to be able to combine my love of animals and painting to enable me to do my dream job. Many of my clients say that I capture the essence and soul as well as their likeliness of their pets in my artwork.

I work in oil paints and pastels. Originally I started out just using graphite pencils but found my love of pastels and paint. My commissioned paintings are sent worldwide. USA, Australia, Germany and of course the UK!

Over the years I have had many great accomplishments and honours. My latest accomplishment is winning a top placing in an international art competition.

Dogs, cats and horses are not the only animals I have painted, I have also done many different British wildlife pieces, giraffes, highland cows and a snake!

I love working at my easel and having my dogs lay by my feet whilst I work.

Doing something you are so passionate about and love is a dream come true.
